For whatever reason taxidermists love to give you their labels with great fanfare to put on your trophies. I can tell you its the worst bloody thing to do!

Every outfitter has their own system and way of labelling and identifying clients trophies or they should not be in business. If you are so worried about it print your own labels with your name and address and NOT the name and address of your taxidermist, customs broker, mistress or anyone else.

The trophies are YOUR property and for the purpose of importation on ALL paperwork it is your Name and Address that should be mentioned. And the Airway bill should also be consigned to you with your Name and Address. The Customs Broker should be shown as the Notify Party, so they can clear the trophies on your behalf.

Often the taxidermists name or address gets put on this paperwork (because guess what they got it off the bloody labels) and this will cause a big problem later. I have had a clients lion trophy sent back to Burkina from Paris because the CITES paperwork had his taxidermists name on the certificate. Just recently a bunch of clients in Cameroon gave their names c/o of the taxidermists address and that got put on the paperwork. These are not easy documents to change. The office is 23 hours drive one way and each time anything official has to be done it requires some greasing! So a BIG aggravation for all concerned.

Once your trophies are cleared, your customs broker will ask where you want your trophies sent. It is only AT THAT POINT that the name and address of the taxidermist becomes relevant.

Now you know what to do with your taxidermists labels!

Hope this helps!
