As posed in another thread, Kenya and Mali propose to ban ivory exports from Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, and RSA at the CITES meeting in June. I am scheduling an elephant hunt in Zim in September. Of course, it would then take many months to get the tusks out of the country and into the USA. Does anyone know anything more about this proposed ban, such as likelihood of passage, when it would take effect if passed in June, etc.? Indy Life is short. Hunt hard.

Don't know about the ban but ivory ban but lets look at Kenya...Illegal ivory rings and less wildlife since hunting was banned... A sad state of affairs.... Mike

It seems like Kenya proposes this every year to the CITES committee but so far they have failed and I suspect will fail again this year. 465H&H
