We will start offering hunts in Guinea from 2018! Guinea has a rather long list of game that can be hunted and offers both Savannah as well as Forest Species. I am told there are lots of Savannah / dwarf forest buff as well as Yellow Backed duiker. Species on license include elephant, hippo, Jentink duiker, zebra duiker and many other duiker species. In the North (to be explored yet) I understand there is also Lord Derby Eland to be had as well as other savannah species! Initial hunts will focus on Buffalo, YB and other duikers, waterbuck and other savannah species. The hunting will take place in Southern Guinea bordering Sierra Leone. Logistics / Infrastructure is a bit rough at the moment, but the prices will reflect it for the first season. There are two distinct hunting seasons and what is cool is that each season brings its own animals in the same hunting area! If there is any interest out there PM me. Only tough cookies need apply . Are these forest elephants or savannah elephants? Any idea if the ivory can be imported into the US?

From the http://www.huntingreport.com/h..._details.cfm?id=1559 website: US citizens should be aware that there is no chance that ivory from this country will be importable any time soon. Indeed, it does not appear Guinea even has a registered CITES quota for elephant at this time. These are forest elephants. To the best of my knowledge ivory will not be importable.

I have always wondered why giant hogs live in the same forest as pigmies

The LD Eland in the West of guinea are Western giant Eland. They are critically endangered with about 2-300 animals left in the wild.

Hey Saeed, Africa's smallest leopards live in the rain forest while the largest baboon species(the colorful mandrill) lives there too. I saw some yellow backed duikers in the Dallas zoo and they were as big in size as Texas hill country whitetails. A better trophy than the little bitty ones that you normally come across.

Did a car trip to Guinea from Senegal a few years ago. Buff, roan and some small duikers was possible to hunt around there. As Dennis says the western Giant eland are few left. Not so many toubabs there

I dont know where you got that from. The forest leopards are pretty normal size to huge. I saw a monster track in Cameroon this year.

In India the rain forest leopard are smaller and a lot darker / richer coat. More black variants in the rain forests particularly in the south west hills. "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."

reddy375, Maybe it's just in the Ituri forest but the leopard there are said to be almost dwarf like and reddish and dark in coloration.
