Ask yourself, does it REALLY affect you?

Have you seen the prices of houses and cars in the last five years? They've gone up a LOT (and luxury homes and cars have increased at a much higher rate). At least one could make the case that they are a necessity.

African hunts are truly a discretionary expense, and so people are free to pay for them, or not. In most cases, market prices will prevail. If no one spends $140k on a lion hunt, or $1.5M on a rhino, the prices will drop to the point where people are willing to pay.

the whole trouble is that there is an offer for the black rhino for 1.25 mil now. I guess if you got it you spend it, but it sure does leave everybody else in the dust.

I don't foresee that in my lifetime, but that may be limited since I'm 70 now...I would like to know what he basis that on? I doubt he is correct..

FWIW friend....and I'm sincere here.....Even a modest plains game safari leaves 99% of American hunters in the dust! Why do you think Savage is so successful selling guns?

I have no problem knowing that there's things I'd like and can't afford.....It's truly what supply and demand dictates.....Personally I think it's good to get all the help they can get for the black Rhino.....it worked for the white Rhino back 100 years ago when there was only 6 of them known to exist in South Africa and now because of hunters "donations" there's 3,500 of them and a huntable population.

vapordog......there is a lot of truth in that statement!

I agree that the cash will help the Rhino, but a million to hunt an animal is beyond my thought process. Maybe I just need a better bonus and wage structure at work ..
