Hi everyone, Any of you happen to catch African safari hunting on the versus network on tv tonight. That guy from excaliber crossbows shot an elephant with a crossbow, What an exhilerating experience that had to have been, to be within 20 yds from that massive beast with only a crossbow, granted he had the guide there to back him up, but still what an experience. What are your thoughts on this??? and would any of you do it???

Hey don't worry about it, 90% of what we hash out on a daily basis was already covered. Go back to page ~530...same stuff different day! Cool

I posted the old thread for reference, but there may be a bunch of people who never saw this. So please, don't hesitate to post.

Regards, Bill

The PH in this clip was Karl Mason. I talked to him at SCI and he wasn't aware the video was out there. I like the part where the hunter says, "I thought you said they (meaning the tusks) were thin" and Karl says, "they are."

I'd love to see the reaction to shooting an elephant with a darted long bow from 20 yards would be!

Bill23:

Thanks for reviving the topic. I completely missed the first "discussion". The Excalibur hunt aired on our show this week, and we have received positive responses. In fact, no one on our webiste has, as of yet, derided a one shot kill at close range as a "stunt".

Kudos to Bill & Kathy Troubridge on a job well done and a nice piece of video.
