30-06 and I have returned from a fantastic safari in Zambia! As referenced in an earlier post, we were able to succesfully take a huge black maned lion as well as leopard, buffalo, hippo and plains game.

I am off to a conference, but will post photos upon my return.

Thanks Bwanamrm for the celebration cigars, it was a great way to top off our success!

Damn you!!! I need photos NOW!!! Hurry up and get back!

Sounds like you guys had a great safari. Congratulations! I know you worked hard to prepare, and it paid off. Can't wait to see the lion and get the full report on rifle and bullet performance.

Eagerly awaiting!

Bwanas,

Congratulations! I would have expected nothing less than a great safari from John DuPlooy but a monster lion is always a fantastic trophy and not a slam dunk anywhere.

Good show for you both!

AWESOME LION!!!!!!!!!!!!!! clap clap beer

Must have been the rifle you were using. It looks like you hit him well. I'm betting it was a one shot kill with the 416 Rigby.

Let's hear some stories.

Great hunt!
