Croc kills boy in Gwembe

A CROCODILE has killed a 10-year-old boy of Gwembe's Kalelezhi area while he was washing dishes in Lake Kariba.
Gwembe district commissioner, Alice Mwiinga, who confirmed the development, said the boy's father, Levy Njema, reported that members of the community only managed to retrieve the boy's shoulders and head.
Mwiinga complained that despite the massive sensitisations conducted in communities surrounding Lake Kariba on the dangers of patronising the waters, people had not heeded the advice.
"You know this conflict can only be sorted out through the cropping of these reptiles by ZAWA, otherwise the death rate is alarming…this week alone we have lost three lives in a similar fashion," she said.
Mwiinga said most members of the community surrounding Lake Kariba say they could not avoid the water body because it was the only source of water.

Alternatively sell these reptiles to high dollar paying clients and put some money into Government coffers?

Or is that simply logic?
