I'm fairly new to the board and stumbled across it after a tip from a trip to the Dallas SCI Show.
(kinda rhymes don't it!) I don't have the experience of alot of the posters on the board like Ray, Will, LV Eric and Terry, but I've made enough hunts to enough of the African countries that are discussed on the threads to know most of them are plausible. Are some embellished a bit? Maybe. Who am I to say I wasn't on their hunt.
BUT.................
Once you've made the big trip across the Atlantic, you'll discover alot of very interesting things can happen to you that wouldn't on a N.A. big game hunt. That what makes African hunting so unique! My first trip over I came back and thought I was an expert on African hunting, the more I go the more I realize I still have much to discover and learn.
There is alot of good info in the posts on these boards. Travel tips, countries to visit, game to be hunted, rifle and bullet preferences.........and good people to meet like Jerry Huffaker, SBT, ForrestB and JudgeG who have sent me e-mails and made phone calls to fill me in on areas I'm going to hunt and will hunt in the future.
Sort through what works for you and what doesn't!
But I haven't felt there were many outright frauds on the board.
