Warthog, espcially when wounded. Lost a tracker a few years back. He is still alive and cooks for me when touring Botswana / Namibia, but unfortunatly with only one leg, the other one is wood...

The roaming donkeys of Zimbabwe, especially when your PH is in a hurry to get somewhere at night....little bastards......roaming quasi-domesticated pigs in Zambia are close second...
Other than that, I go with Bush Buck. And on my first, Limpopo, the trackers would not get out of truck til I administered a coup de gras.

Ungrateful bastard, Ha! I sprayed my drink on that one!

A nation with dogs and whiskey beats Nazis. A nation with cats and spritzers is asking to be shoved around.

Very entertaining and educational read.
I've never been over there, doubtful I will at this age.

IF this thread isn't restricted to Africa.
Dad broke a bull elks back and the bull charged him. I was over 200yds away & saw it happen, he got another slug in that ended it.

One time I shot about 8-10 pups off a prairie dog mound with momma jumping up n down bitching at me. Finally the last one I shot was her. When I walked over there she was shot nearly in half at the middle and made a nearly two foot high lunge at me with mouth spread wide open & fangs bared. That made a believer out of me. They looked nearly an inch long, mouth close to 3" gap. I stepped back & shot her again, no way was I going to try stepping on her head after that.

I fully believe all animals are dangerous when hurt, or cornered. Regardless of size or species.

Yep, shot mine quartering away, bullet entered abaft the last rib and came out center chest. Dead on his feet but ran into the reeds. Trackers launched a BUNCH of rocks at his carcass in the reeds then poked him with a long stick before retrievning. jorge
