A possible new world record Nile bushbuck was recently taken in Uganda. At 49 1/2" a month after it was shot, it will very likely be the SCI #1 after official measuring once the mandatory 60 day drying period has elapsed.

It was taken by A. Oettingen hunting with me in the Pianupe Wildlife Reserve, Karamoja. This season, 2014, is the first year full length safaris have been conducted here since the area was awarded to Karimojong Overland Safaris in 2009. For those hunters into inches and records, quite a number of top 20 trophies of various species were harvested. Just great that Karamojo Bell's old stomping grounds can be enjoyed again after a break of some 40 years!

When I figure out how to post a pic I'll do so, sorry. Help?

Mink and Wall Tents don't go together. Especially when you are sleeping in the Wall Tent.

Ade

Congratulations and I'll look forward to seeing the pics.

If you stayed at the game scout post, I hope you enjoyed the flushing/European toilets I installed there a few years ago........ they were the only ones for about a hundred miles in any direction! jumping

Oh and have you found the location of Bell's old camp beside the Greek River crossing yet? - If not, shoot me a PM or an email and I'll tell you where it is...... DDRHook & I located it with the help of a phone call to the late and great Ken Stewart who had camped there back in the 60s.

Very impressive..could you give us a rundown on your season? What species are you taking in addition to the bushbuck. Would be interested in what you are seeing in the way of dangerous game ele/lion/buff.

Congrats.
