I would like to make this tread where you guys can post all your "do´s an dont`s" regarding traveling and hunting in Zimbabwe. That would help me a lot. a lot. It will only be my second african safari, so im quite a newcomer to this game. And please forgive my poor english. The route , if it gets an reality, will go from Norway-Amsterdam?-Johannesburg-Bulawayo-charter to camp. Thanks a lot. In advance. Odin: If you are hunting with John, my suggestion is to ask him any pertinent questions that you might have. There is a wealth of info on this site, particularly if you go to the Africa Reference and Information section. There are packing lists, what to brin and not bring, rifle cases, medical advice, the works. Finally, if you are hunting with John, all you have to do is show up at the Bulawayo airport and just stand there. John will take care of everything including Customs. What other species of game are you planning to take and what rifle& caliber will you be using? Hello Jorge ! Id like to try to get Giraffe,Eland, and maybe hippo. Impalas are also beautiful. Im using a .416 Dakota with Barnes Tsx 400 grs/2450 fps. It has served me well. Now im trying out Woodleigh SN 400 grs. Got 410 grs FMJ and 410 grs softnoses in the mail yesterday. Wonder if they will do. The Tsx was compressing the loads when using Vitavouri powder (hard to get other powders here). Had some problems using Barnes. But performance was good. See if I can post a picture here. 400 grs Barnes Tsx /2450 fps trough shoulder-shoulder on a wildebeest. No weightloss Odin

The Woodleighs will perform well for you. If you can afford the time I suggest you drive into camp if it is available and see some of the Zim country side. 465H&H
