I have always enjoyed seeing the equipment that others use and hearing their reasons for choosing/using/modifying it. I am currently using a (20 year old repro) Mills cartridge belt that I have modified to suit my needs. I removed the pistol loops from the back of the belt, changed the spacing to allow more room between the first 5 cartridges on both the front left and right. I can carry a total of 14 .450NE rounds. I also modified one loop on the left side to accommodate my super bright little Streamlight PT1AA light. An extra AA battery fits in an unused cartridge loop. I also carry a small utility/skinner knife on my right side.
I was just wondering what you all carry on your belts and what useful mods you may have made.

Very cool! Hey, with that belt buckle, you should be carrying a pair of Colt SAAs!

That is actually what I used to have on this belt (although they were Ruger Vaqueros). I did a lot of Cowboy action shooting, then got into mounted shooting for a few years. When I switched to a different gunbelt I decided to recycle this belt for safari use.

I just wear an ordinary belt.

10-round cartridge wallet on the right. My camera on the left. No knife.

I haven't hunted DG but I use this slide with my 9.3x62.

I use it as it has minimal contact between the leather and the brass preventing verdigris build up. If you use an all leather pouch or loops and leave the rounds in overnight you will eventually get green verdigris build up on the brass.

Aushunter has the same slide and used it for weeks in Mozambique without problems.

I always carry a cartridge caseand nothing else. One truism I have found in African hunting is that if you need your own knife, you booked with the wrong safari company

Not a very good picture but my belt mirrors close to what most of you guys have:

I don't expect to get much use out of my knife on safari, unless it's by personal choice, but I never leave the hard top without at least knife, compass and fire and they are all there on the belt.

What is a Swiss "champ"? Guessing it is a camera.

Duh! I completely forgot about that. Everything but the kitchen sink. The case on your belt looked perfect for a small camera.

Swiss army knife.

A bit big for my tastes. I prefer the Farmer, Climber, or Camper.

So Mouse,
You hunt with not one, but two corkscrews. You are my hero.
