Flying into DFW on Thursday early afternoon, and am not renting a car because my daughter will pick me up Friday morning. Can anyone recommend a good, reasonable hotel with shuttle service to the airport that might also be within walking distance of really good chow, preferably on the Fort Worth side of things, as that is where we are going to spend most of Friday? Thanks! I've saved the suggestions on the "Things to do thread" and appreciate all the great advice. Bill There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

Bass Pro Shops Embassy suite Joins the Bass Pro Shop and has a pretty good brewery restaurant steakhouse. If that does not suit you...call the office tomorrow and I'll give you other suggestions. 903-564-7443 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. I agree with Lane, I stay there a bunch, if you are bringing your wife, there is a Hilton, Hilton of Town Lake Square,It is in Soputhlake which is real close as well, tons of shops and resturants and a Movie theater,Barnes and Noble, There is a Trulocks there as well as a nice Italian place , pluss the burgers, pizzas, etc. Plenty to do besides eat and sleep. If you don't want to get away from DFW the Hyatt and Grand Hyatt are on airport property. At the Hyatt there is a steak house called Mister G's,,it is really good,, I have held many corporate dinners there and never a bad experience. It is small, dark, red leather, english looking,, like a library in a old house. The maitre'd is named "Mr Sheffield" and he is from South Africa, plenty to talk to him about!, if you like wine they have a "master Somalier sp.? wine steward,,etc Service top notch,, wild game on menu as well. It is more up scale than the Buckhorn brewery at Bass pro shops. They do have a sports bar at the embassy suites and there is one above the buckhorn steakhouse if there is any sports event you are interested in. There is a mall just up the street from Bass pro shops as well if you have a "shopper'with you. Hope that gives you more info than you wanted.. you can make more money, you can not make more time

Drwes: Thanks for the added info. Booked the Embassy Bass Pro. I'm not a big sports fan other than college football, but if they have "Tracks Across Africa" showing at the sports bar, I'll be there ... Bill There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author
