The latest issue is really very good. Interesting articles across the board, even though I already knew how to cut my cigars. Clint Eastwood-style, of course!

OoA has been gone for years!!!
Sullivan was given reasons.

When I left, OoA was still in good standing and Sullivan had been given no reason for being banned yet.
Matt,
I don't need to justify my reasons to you. If you like them stay. I don't need rely on them to pimp hunts.
Not looking for an argument, just gave my opinion. I really don't need them for anything. I was an officer in the Phoenix Chapter for 11 years. We had over 250K in retained earnings when I left.
I'm proud of what I did when there. WE made a cognitive difference in many children's lives. 40 Navajo children (every year) were given a chance to retain their rich hunting heritage in part because of what we did.
We sent more than a few terminally ill kids on their last wish (hunting) when "Make a Wish" told them no.
I have a passion for sharing what has been a gift to me with the less fortunate.
SCI was intended to be a largely Philanthropic organization. Education, Conservation and Humanitarian are truly noble goals.
When any organization no longer represents what is in my heart, I can't continue. It's too egocentric.

Matt GrahamNo Im not looking for an argument mate. It sure sounds like your old chapter did a lot of good - just as most chapters do!!

PS.. I think you will find that Mark Sullivan received (more than one) warnings from SCI, before he was booted - that was my understanding.

Mark Sullivan was asked several times to stop showing his silly vidoes.
He refused.
He got booted out.
But, I wonder why he was acted upon quicker than they did against out of Africa.
Was it because Out of Africa had someone high up the SCI food chain in their pockets?

It had to do with cronyism.
The year after MS got pitched, there was another vendor selling his video's and playing the same ones he got banned for showing.
the political nature of the organization is repugnant.
Watching from the sidelines and interacting with the guys from HQ. is as polar as day is from night.

Michael Robinson First Grizzly, First Day, by Roger Lynch, is a great story in the latest issue. Highly recommended.
Also greatly enjoyed
Russia Once More, by George Latham Myers, II. Top notch.

Do you really think they sent out an all points bulletin to SCI exhibitors that they couldnt sell Mark Sullivan DVD's? Really???

Who knows? I do see it as a glaring hypocrisy that MS get's banned for something that is deemed by you, that SCI didn't put any effort into enforcement of others.
Like I said before, They're all yours.
When I decided to volunteer, I looked into all the other wildlife conservations around Arizona. We have plenty to choose from;
SCI
AZ Desert Bighorn Sheep Society
RMEF
AZ Elk Society
AZ Mule Deer Assn.
Pronghorn Assn. of some name
Turkey Federation
Ducks
Rocky Mtn. Mule Deer (not sure of the name)
I chose SCI simply because they are a non-species specific hunters advocacy group. Not interested in the games or politics of it.

Who knows indeed. And who knows that they didnt put any effort into enforcement of others? Sullivan was banned because there were so many complaints. Perhaps there were no complaints about the other exhibitors?
