tendramsBoddington on Fox
Really? You are going to defend Fox as the epitome of US journalism? You must be the same guy who argued a few years ago that Lance Armstrong must be clean and that there were WMDs in Iraq. Come on...don't be silly. I didn't say that Craig didn't do a great job. I simply made the assertion that offering his arguments on Fox is like preaching liberal politics on MSNBC. It's better than nothing, sure...but would be better if offered elsewhere.

ExpressYourselfI think Craig did a fine job. We are fortunate that he is being given the opportunity to speak out on behalf of the hunting community. I spoke with Craig early this morning. He was on his way for an additional appearance which is great.

d.ungerFox is the best news source out there, period. I'm thankful they gave the truth some airtime. Didn't see any of the other networks doing that.
07 July 2014, 18:51
AnotherAZWriterI am glad he brought up the piece about photo safaris taking place in parks whereas hunting is done in more marginal areas. This is a point I drill home every time I debate those who question African hunting.

Personally, I think certain Fox personalities are fine. Certain others suck. Hell, If Obama cured cancer, Hannity would find fault with it. On the other hand, they are absolutely horrible at the other networks. While Fox may have problems, they are FAR better than the other networks.

Die Ou Jagtertendrams, it appears FOX is the only platform offered, would you say no to the opportunity because the other networks did not offer. You must be the guy that thought Oboma Care would solve all health problems and we would be living in Utopia.

Showing your age there my friend. That's oh so 80's. Try Megan Fox. Little more....now
Samantha would be right up Craig's street.
Actually Andrew Samantha Fox is playing for the other team now- she married her lesbian manager

I agree that FOX is disliked by the liberals of this world, that is a given! However there is a sound reason for that take on FOX. That reason is the most who have liberal leanings, and claim to be open minded, and actually believe they are, cannot stand to hear the truth if is doesn’t fit their personal bias.
This is caused by the last several years of listening to the absolute lies broadcast by the liberal press. These lies are not simply ignorance on the part of the other networks, but are simply their agenda in pandering to the socialist leaning of the present administration.
I can guarantee you the other networks, first of all, would not allow anyone who is pro hunting to talk on the air without being attack, by three or four antis being there to gang bang and talk over Boddington so he wouldn’t be able to get his point across.
I watched Boddington’s interview, and thought is was well presented, but even here we have folks who take exception to the broadcast because it was on FOX and I say how many think that broadcast would have even been considered on any of the other networks?
Hold your fire till I have time to dig my FOXhole!

tendramsBoy you guys know how to make a mountain out of a molehill. Like Fox or not, do you think the average Fox viewer needs persuading? Yes, they were almost certainly the only network that asked...but that doesn't change the fact that our view needs a wider exposure than Fox.
07 July 2014, 20:33
WoodhitsI'd venture to guess that while plenty of Fox viewers are right-leaning and probably ok with hunting generally, to assume that they are knowledgeable on African hunting on conservation issues would be a stretch. The majority of hunters that I encounter aren't up to speed n this stuff, much less the average Sunday TV viewer.

Die Ou JagterOk did anyone see a tease the day before Tucker Carlson's interview. Carlson said he was a hunter BUT he only killed what he could eat thus he didn't understand "Trophy" hunting. Maybe Craig enlightened him as to the value of the meat in Africa. I know none of that was covered on camera but maybe off camera and we have a better understanding hunter.

tendrams, who are the great interviewing talents on the other networks, ABC,CBS,NBC or CNN?
Most anyone on PBS News Hour. They don't have a preconceived message (left or right). They just report what happened and let you think what you want. They invite experts with actual knowledge to discuss stories and issues rather than try to have the same 10-20 pundits comment on every story as if they know what they're talking about and could possibly have an informed and exhaustive opinion about EVERYTHING. The also invite people from both sides to comment and discuss. They don't allow shouting matches and disrespectful behavior between guests. Their anchors politely and respectfully ask questions and then god forbid let the guest answer without interrupting them or shouting them down. It may not be as exciting as Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, or Chris Matthews interrupting their guests, shouting them down, and calling them idiots, but it's a hell of a lot more informative. As you could probably guess I've long ago given up on network news.

Again, Craig did a fine job with what was given to him, and the short window he had.
Sadly, Brian Kilmeade is not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree. I saw him do a piece a year or so on the Marine Corp during Fox and Friends. He lost me when in his early morning piece he talked about the blowing of "revelry" - getting facts straight ahead of time is not his strong suite.

I use to think that too, but if you actually watch it you'll find they are by far the most unbiased reporting on TV. And I am NOT referring to the entire channel. Only the news hour.

Yes...in the context of today's world...it is the closest thing to an "epitome of journalism" as we are served. Perfect??? Far from it. Thus, epitome is a misnomer.
Fox gets stronger and more refined yearly.
Tendrams,
Might you suggest your "epitome of US journalism"? Please spare our intelligence of advocating PBS.

A wise consumer of news does not rely on one source....EVER! I watch BBC, CNN, MSNBC, Al Jazeera, France 24, you name it. I sometimes watch Fox...for pure entertainment value or if I need to raise my blood pressure.

While your multiple source comment is equitable...the concomitant information speaks volumes as to your turn of mind.
I postulate that your sir may enjoy a twist-of-left served with your headlines.

What, because I didn't include World Net Daily?

shootawayIt is good to see a TV station, that from the looks of it, is on the hunters side.We need more of this,IMO.Perhaps others can do a better job although Boddington I think, did good job.

Tendrams is correct. Look at how stunned everyone on here is about the elephant and lion situation. Just can't believe it. If you want to be truly informed you need to step away from those that are like minded. This will in turn allow you to better communicate, advocate and educate your position. Holy shit, did that just sound like Jesse Jackson??? Ugh.

That said sir, we were controverting "the epitome of quality news." I dare assert that Fox News is more inclined to convey precise, candid, and truthful information than any of the liberal spewing lot he cites.

Tendrams, please tell us which of those networks do you think would have broadcast the Boddington interview allowing him to talk without being shouted down by either the interviewer, or an anti?
I think you know that most of us tune into all those networks, but in the case of anything regarding hunting, FOX is, IMO, about the only one that would have allowed this type of thing to be broadcasted uninterrupted.
Yes the FOX interview is, for the most part preaching to the choir, but if on the other networks you wouldn’t hear it at all, what other choice do you have? At least because hunters are not the only audience FOX has so that is the only place a fence sitter will get these facts because he certainly would not get them from those other networks especially the BBC, or MSNBC.
