That's what I thought. It misfired on the Banteng hunt. Ammo? Who knows.

She could be using a synthetic stocked Remington 700 with a Tasco scope and Sierra bullets and I wouldn't care. Aside from being drop-dead gorgeous, she's a pretty good sport and a crack shot also. She brained a hippo last week from about 100 yards with a bolt action and next week she goes after lion. Man, she's good looking...jorge

It is a kreighoff and I believe it was not a misfire. Krieghoff doubles have a de-cocking feature...kind of safety device. I think she tried to fire the rifle while it was de-cocked. Some shooters feel this divice is dangerous on a double rifle for the very same reason seen on the video. Think if the buffalo was charging!

I wondered if that might be the problem. She said it was a misfire and changed rounds, but I was curious if it could have been the cocking mechanism.

If you practice with your weapons, I feel the cocking device on the Krieghoff provides saftey not found on most rifles. It is loaded all the time without the danger of an errant discharge.

I did have two buff come out of the long grass at 30 feet ±. I have practiced cocking the double as I bring it to my shoulder. Both buff hit the deck. Eeker

Jim,
My comment is not an attempt to trash the Krieghoff rifle. Out if curiosity, is this feature automatic when you close the action, similar to auto safety on a shotgun, or is it totally manual?

The position of the cocking tang remains wherever you manually place it. When you fire the cocked rifle, it recocks on breaking open to reload. If the tang is in the uncocked position, breaking open do not cocke it.

Hmmmm...so that's what I'm holding out for in a wife! There are some girls that I've known that are close to as good looking as her, but they don't even know what a .470 is!

I'll tell you guys what, you take care of the trophy and daily fees, I'll get a group of girls together, and we'll take them on safari and try to "cindyize" them. How does that sound?

P.S.
I'm typing this from the Penn State library...and you should see what I can see sitting next to me. Wink

Good looking as she is, I think it's her attitude and enthusiasm that really makes her attractive. Really like her doubles ! Other than her association with Rann, what else is known about her ?

'Rough looking?" you've GOT to be SHITTING ME. You must be a "the glass is always half empty kind of guy." I would venture to say that in your WIDELST dreams could you hope for a girl that looks like that and hunts to boot. But then again, the "troll" icon speaks volumes. jorge

Where do I sign up?

I live in Italy, you should see the girls here. I don't know if stilleto heels and big Italian hair would work in the Yukon, Transvaal, or Coburg Penninsula. Hell it would be worth a try.

Italian girls have to be the most stylish in the whole world. I have a favorite memory of watching them negotiate a cobblestoned street in stilleto heels. Depending on your mood you can go up or down the country to find just who you want on the sultry to haughty scale.

Fond memories of Florence.

I have watched her couple of times before on her fly fishing program but never realized she was a hunter also. She is breath of fresh air. The hunting shows were getting ho hum and one hunting show looked like another.

You are right, what a character. She willing take more risks then most men and has fun at. She is definitely a peach.

Guy's there isn't any doubt she's a babe but after about the 1st 30 minutes of her giggling and posturing I'd have the duct tape out to gag her ----- if I wanted to hang out with her (and I won't mind it) it certainly woulnd't be on a safari it would be somewhere the background noise was loud enough to drownd her out and the booze was strong enough for me to look at myself when I shaved the next morning.
