Opus1Another misguided, misinformed opinion piece - this is what's dividing Africa.

analog_peninsulaThe problem with the left is that they never bother to examine the actual outcomes of their policies. In theory, there's no difference between theory and practice. In practice, of course, there is.
The article was mellifluous, well reasoned, elegant, and wrong; but the author will never discover his errors because he's too busy accepting the congratulations of his highly educated, perfectly socially adjusted, petty, mean and miserable friends.

PoyntmanTO me it's always funny how they seem to equate ecotourism in only very specialized spots such as the Okavango, Ngorongoro Crater, Krueger, Kilamanjaro, Masai Mara...etc.. with everywhere else
They seem to think you can pop up a vacancy sign and the greenies will show up with pockets full of cash
And, of course, like everyone on the left is that the whole world must conform to exactly what they deem appropriate

Bryan WI do find the article comical in many ways and sad at to see what passes as some form of journalism. I also came to realize I really messed up on my croc. hunt. I stalked a river bank trying to get the wind right, be hidden from view and as quiet as possible. Not to mention having to place a bullet in a golfball size brain at 80 meters. Based on the except below I could have made the hunt like shooting fish in a barrel. Oh well, I had more fun!
"Crocodiles are easy to find on this part of the Zambezi: lying in the sun on the banks of the river, boats can float just a few feet away. And given that they are motionless for most of the time, not hard to shoot, I imagine."

Upton O. GoodAh, yes, another inaccurately written article that doesn't reference carrying capacities, animal life histories, damage done by over populated animals like elephants, and collateral damage to animals when elephants degrade the area by over grazing.
I love backing anti-hunters into corners with biological data and follow up questions. I do with with patience and a smile, too.

L. David KeithI respect the BBC's opinion about as much as asking a dumb founded idiot who to vote for in a genocide operation.

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
