SAA warns of phishing scam

South African Airways (SAA) is warning its Voyager members about a a phishing scam doing the rounds according to reports on Tourismupdate.co.za.

The alleged scam sees customers receiving an email with the subject line ‘Passenger Itinerary Receipt'. According to SAA these emails are not from the airline or its customer relations department and should be deleted immediately. "No matter how authentic such emails may seem, any email supposedly from the airline that has a link to the Voyager log-in page is not from SAA," says the airline.

Voyager members are also warned not to enter any personal details on the link provided in the email which reportedly thanks customers for their purchase and then asks them to follow a link.

"Please do not click on such a link as it will take you to a fraudulent website where your Voyager long-in and your PIN may be compromised."

SAA says if customers have transacted via the SAA website using Voyager log-in details during the last 72 hours and are unsure of the legitimacy of the transaction, they can contact the call centre on +27 11 978 1234 during office hours (07h00 - 21h00) to reset their selected Voyager PIN.

Cheers,
