Here's another angle.

In September of 2001 I proposed to Holly around the fire pit in Coenraad Vermaak's safari camp in Pilanesberg National Park.

After we were married, I suggested how romantic it would be to go back to Africa for our Honeymoon. We had a great Honeymoon and another great hunt! As a result of those two hunts, she has become an enthusiastic huntress and we have been back to Africa several more times!

So, take your girlfriend to Africa and propose to her there. It's good for at least two trips to Africa!

You dog, you smooth talking Southerner. I should have done that and would have been set for life. Now I have to resort to sucking up.

But it is worth to go back.

dogcat,

I got married in Africa, was late for my own wedding trailing a wildebeast. Not sure your tactic would work for me, but going to try it.

Great idea. A second honeymoon but too late . Our tenth anniversary is this year with the original honeymoon being in 1994 in Zimbabwe. But maybe, an idea, a second honeymoon to Tanzania can be suggested on the tenth anniversary!

After all the wide open plains of Northern Tanzania are as romantic as Victoria Falls. And Zanzibar is steeped in history and intrigue. And of course a buffalo hunt in there somewhere .

Happy Days!

Guys,

One of THE MOST romantic places in the world must be the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge in Tanzania........it is quite simply fabulous...... it's not cheap, but if you want to spoil your lady then this is the place to do it.....and as John say's, it's nice and close to some great hunting.

Do they use a "Justice of the Peace" in the African bush or elders from the local tribe? Seriously. This thread gives me ideas to further my African hunting career.
