Anyone know if Richard Harland will be at the DSC convention? I recently finished The Hunting Imperative - a great read! Was thinking of picking up African Epic; opinions of this work?

All three of Richard's books are great reads. I doubt that Richard will be in Dallas. Richard and Brita now live in Harare and when you go next summer, you ought to see if you could meet him for a drink or coffee and get him to sign the books for you.

A few years ago Mr. Harland was at the SCI Convention. My husband bought his book, Ndlovu
The Art of Hunting the African Elephant.

Mr. Harland autographed the book and when he was told we were going on an elephant hunt for the first time, he could not have been more gracious.

If you get an opportunity, he is really someone special to meet.

I have been fortunate enough to have chatted with Richard on numerous occasions.

He is truly one of nature's gentlemen.

I have all his books, they are "must reads".

Nobody knows elephant better than R.H. and nobody is better qualified to write about them.

What a great idea, Mike. I had already planned on bringing Ndlovu for reading on the plane - I've already been thru it twice.

Buzz, I'll plan on picking it up while there.
