Where is a good place (outfitter) to go for Val Rhebok?? Recommendations, experience, tall tales - all welcome.

- mike

P.S. What else can you hunt with this outfitter?? I suspect the Eastern Cape or the Free State are the only areas for Val Rhebok??

Try Gary Tonks at angelfire.com/on2/camdeboosafaris/. Great guy. I didn't have time or good knee to chase them when I hunted with him last but want to return for one. He has all the EC game including Blue Duiker, Cape Grysbok, Orbi, 3 color phases of the Springbok, small cats etc.

I've not hunted Vahl Rahbuck on his property, but Lynx Safaris, in the OF State, has some great Vahl. Drop me a PM & I'll get you an e-mail address. He also has very good bushbuck & black widlebeast. A good guy to hunt with.

Try www.wormaldhunting.com Roy Wormald is in the eastern cape, north of Port Elizabeth.

I have hunted there 7 times, and taken very nice Vaal Reebok there too. Lots of other game to be had there also.

We will be there again in May of 05.

It looks like there is some good hunting, including vaal rehbuck, at this place. The quality of the animals is pretty good from the pictures on his Gallery page.

Frank Bowker takes a lot of them as well. I have hunted with him twice and took a nice Rhebok ram in 1999. They are a fun animal to hunt. Long range shots are the norm from what I saw and have been told. I took mine at a little more than 350 yards with a 7mm Mag.

If you hunt them and take one, I'd do a full body mount. It is the only way to do the animal justice. Feel free to PM me if you want the contact info on Franl Bowker's outfit.
