Same as the 450 Dakota.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! Identical loading data.

It works! Whop something in the right spot with the .450 and it will feel it! It is one of my favorite rounds.

I have a .450 Dakota (Brno CZ 550 bored out to a .450 Dakota) that I would sell if you want it. I have the dies, good number of rounds, (500 grain Swift A-frame's and Barned solids).

I have two stocks, an American style, 100% condition and a modified Hog Back style, that, after the modification, is more attractive than the American in my mind.

I am only selling it because I got a double and can't see using the 450 anymore.

It's awesome! Once you get used to the recoil, and that isn't terribly difficult, it absolutely knocks buffalo down. Yeah, they might get back up but they'll be stunned and wobbly so followups are simpler. I, too, have one for sale with M70 style safety, expanded magazine (4+1) Talley peep sight, etc. on a Brno 602 ZKK Square Bridge Magnum. Pix available. Of course, it may come down to my restocking it and then it won't be for sale anymore, but for now . . .

wendell,
I will be curious as to your thought on the 470 once you smack a good bull. Two years ago I took buffalo with both my 470 and my 450 Dakota. I was amazed at how much harder the 470 hit the bulls. I almost feel that the 450 had too much power. The 470 gave them the smack! Buffalo seemed to get hit harder. My thoughts are that the slower bullet may unload more energy. Both guns kill animals however on next months hunt I will only use the 470.

Maybe I should take out two licenses and shoot everything on one license with the 450 and everything on the other with the 470.

Anyone want to finance my studies??? Roll Eyes

Perry, I have a Win mod 70 458 in the classifides for $825. Very close to new.

I need to see if I can stand to part with the .450. Dang I love that gun, but it is not practical to have both, I will probably never use the 450 again now that I have this fancy new French girlfriend! Big Grin

I will see what it is worth and post it.

Perry,
I have about $2600 into Monster Slayer and would love to get half of that out. Realistically, though, a grand would be fine . . .

Monster Slayer huh?

Dang, there goes the name for mine ...

I am about in the same ballpark. I have dies and a 50+ loaded rounds, brass, extra bullets, all to go with it.

Hello to all. I am new to this forum, but have enjoyed reading here for some time. I noticed several rifles for sale on this topic. I was curious if anyone had any Brno ZKK 602 rifles for sale? As you can tell by my handle I am a Mauser fan and and believe the older Brno ZKK rifles to be one of the best of the Mausers.

I believe that Oldsarge's Monster Slayer is a re-worked ZKK-602. You should check with him for details.

You might also want to place a "Want to Buy" ad in the classified section here.

There are a couple of .450 Rigby CZ 550 Magnum Safari Classics at Whittaker Guns in Owensboro, Kentucky, thats about 30 miles upstream on the Ohio River from Evansville, Indiana.

.450 Rigby New: $1890.99

.450 Rigby Used, never fired, and prettier wood without a scratch: $1699.00

www.whittakerguns.com

Some other of the over .40 caliber CZ 550 Magnums on hand there:

.404 Jeffery Safari Classic New: $1890.99
.416 Rigby Lux: $739.99
.416 Rigby American laminate: $906.99
.458 WinMag New Lux: $737.99
.458 WinMag New American: $737.99
.458 WinMag Used, unfired American: $649.00
.458WinMag Used, unfired Lux: $629.00
.505 Gibbs New Safari Classic: $1839.99
.505 Gibbs New safari Classic with extras like muzzle brake, jewelling of bolt, etc. call and ask if interested: $2099.99.

None of these have cross bolts from the factory.

The .505 Gibbs ought to be redone with a vertical stack box.

Getting a .458 WinMag and rechambering to .450 Rigby (or .450 Dakota, or .460 Wby) and opening up the bolt face would be the way to go.

Oh yeah, field experience by me with the Rigby-based .458's is so far limited to the .460 Wby on water buffalo. Same thing as a .450 Rigby or .450 Dakota. I prefer the .450 Dakota.

PS: They will also be among the first to get shipments of the .375 Ruger chambered rifles in 2007, no doubt.
