I see that my thread/poll titled "Can't we all just get along??" got deleted. I was gone all day yesterday and didn't get a chance to look at it. I would appreciate it if someone could send me a PM explaining what happened, in a nutshell. Thanks. _______________________________________________________ Hunt Report - South Africa 2022 Wade Abadie - Wild Shot Photography Website | Facebook | Instagram

Outdoor Writer was the last poster to your thread. Judging by the wording he used in his post, my hunch is that the moderators killed it. His language was very "expressive" to say the least. In all there were about forty words total to his post...Seven of his words would not be allowed on the radio by the FCC. (Federal Communications Commission) Dickheads, Cocksuckers, Bastards, and Assholes were some of the colorful words he used to describe members of AR. For a man who calls himself Outdoor Writer, I would call that improper language. I would have killed the post too, if this was my forum.

I had chimed in earlier in the day. Here is what I wrote after seeing the topic as "Can't We Just All Get Along." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Eland Slayer: I would like to add a comment with a historical reference, because I was a TV reporter 18 years ago holding a microphone at that news briefing when Rodney King uttered that famous phrase. My answer as a newsman back then is the same to you today. "No" GWB and a handful of the other old farts have properly explained it to you. But let me also try to give you some context to your valiant effort as to how it relates to hunting...and communications exchanges on this board, a continuous blog, known in today's world as "social media." The fact that posters don't have to look at each other when they comment via their keyboard, gives them the incentive to go negative. That's just a fact of social media, an inherent outcome of this form of communication. Sometimes it allows people to show their true colors, sometimes posters are just being buttheads and then you have guys like Rich/ISS. I mention his name to get to my point. The debates and diversity of opinions are actually good for the safari hunting community. There is not a poster here who hasn't been met with some form of opposition, to something he/she has posted. No one except perhaps the legendary PH, Mr. Harry Selby has been immune to that. He's the only royalty in here. But let me tell you something about this board. We are all united under the big tent of "HUNTING". If I was out of ammo and a charging buffalo was headed straight towards me, I know for a fact Rich/ISS would stand his ground and eliminate that threat. And watch what happens if there's a next time a PH gets mauled by a leopard. Who's the first group to come to his aid? And who's leading the movement hoping to ensure that Mark Sullivan gets due process? It may seem like there's a lot of rancor in here. And at times there is. But this is also the first place you can turn to whenever you need a helping hand, whenever you need someone to watch your back and whenever you'd someone to make that insurance shot if your chamber is empty."

A very good point Marc. I find some really pertinent information on these boards that really is invaluable to the traveling international hunter. And the relief and help out there to those in need is nothing short of amazing at times. But you do have to pick and choose which threads you want to participate in. If a particular thread takes on a tone I find offensive, I quit visiting it... better than Lotrel for keeping the blood pressure in check! Thanks Bwana Moja. I would try and cover about any of you guys in a pinch, even Outdoor Writer, if there were a need to do so. As well, I think you would all be there for me. Things can get a little intense, but we are like the typical American family. You all put the "FUN in DysFUNctional". regards, Rich
