Looking on going on a leopard hunt in August 2013. Has anyone info on Buffalo Range Safaris operating in the Matetsi. They have no website.Thinking about going there to include sable. Any good hound hunts available. Any comments or suggestions.

No first hand experience, but I've heard good stuff about them if that's Barry Styles' group.

I hunted for BRS from '03 till '05 in this area. Matetsi #6, at the time was a fantastic area for Jumbo, Buff and Sable. Our avg for Sable in '04 was 44 1/2" out of 5 bulls. Their main PH operating there now, is chap named Peter Garvin and he has a passion for hunting Cats. In 2005, Lion hunting was stopped but then re-opened again a couple years ago and they have taken some monsters (I stand to be corrected but I think the biggest Lion shot in Zim last year, was from #6) the Leopard hunting has also become much better, so much so, that last year they had 100% success rate.

You cannot conduct a hound hunt in Matetsi as it is a National Park area. I suggest one of the privately owned properties in the Save Valley Conservancy e.g Mokore Safaris

Good luck,
Brent
