Kenya: Poison Meat Kills Poacher in Tsavo East An poacher died yesterday after eating meat from an elephant that was killed using poisoned arrows. Ndunda Musango, 32, was among several poachers who entered Tsavo East national park two weeks ago to look for the treasured elephant ivory. According to Kitui OCPD Lillian Okembo, the poachers killed the elephant using poisoned arrows. They then cut up huge chunks of meat which they roasted and ate. After a few hours, the poachers started experiencing severe abdominal pains forcing them to abandon their mission. The deceased was found by passersby who took him to a health centre for treatment where he died. Illegal poachers have been invading the park armed with crude weapons where they kill wild animals for meat and ivory. Tsavo east. dam seems like every time I hear about Kenya it's Tsavo east the district MP there will have to be screwed into the ground when he dies he is so crocked. if they would just burn the village of mikuki down and relocate the people to prison it would cure most of the problems in the area. It's know secret that it's the center of the poaching in the area and smuggling of weapons | |||

I wonder if any of the poachers who escaped died later on? Too bad they didn't make it back to Tsavo East with the meat. A round of poisonings would tend to quell any future enthusiasm for bush meat purchases.
