Is there any interest in the Leatherman Tool Wave model with the AR logo on the tool?
It would most likely come with the nylon belt case. I would have to commit for quite a number of pcs. and pay for the die cost etc.
If there is enough interest I will get the show on the road.

Yeah, Harry. I'd like one. And, I'll offer my professional services as an engineer by telling you there shouldn't be any die costs associated with this. The AR logo could be laser etched and the cost for a holding fixture is going to be minimal. Depending on what type of laser is used, you can even get colors, especially if the titanium-frame version is chosen.

I probably have a dozen different pocket multi-tools and the Victorinox (Swiss Army) that every blade/tool locks open on, is the only one I use.

For what it's worth, Leatherman supported John Kerry (yes, gun-banning, make-believe-you're-a-hunter-in-front-of-the-rubes John Kerry) in the last election.

He can vote for whomever he wants, but since he openly endorsed Kerry (thereby using the reputation of his company and products to lend weight to the endorsement), I won't put my dollars in his pocket.

Maybe Harry should look at a competative product, i.e.: Gerber?

Thanks George good piece of info - it will make a difference to me - would not support a company with such leanings. This is a product purchased by hunters, I don't think most are aware of this info.

Well...you can bet being from Texas I sure as hell did not vote for Kerry but the one thing I know about living in the good old USA is that we have the freedom to vote (and to say) as we damn well please. Various post on here prove that daily.
I have no idea who Tim Leatherman supported but I do know Tim for many years as a person. I have spent my money with him in the past and I reckon I will continue to do so.
Kinda like some folks I know in general...just because I think they voted the wrong way is no reason to end a perfectly good friendship.
One of the ladies that cares for my mom is of Mexican dissent and many of them voted for Kerry but damn she is good to my mom and to me. She is a kind and gentle lady. Should I fire her because I like Bush and she likes Kerry?
Guess you have to do what you gotta do.
The good thing about the voting booth..once you are in there alone...I am not really sure who you voted for...I might know what your mouth said but where did you put that big X mark?

DBR..Thanks and to the rest of the great AR members I appreciate the business given on the Tuffpaks and the Sure Fires. The Sure Fire deal ends today. (guess I best get my order in!)
I will go to work on the Wave Tool and I am looking at several other things that maybe I can offer to the forum.
Better tomorrows!

Yep. And I'll be buying something OTHER than Leatherman products.

Anybody who is apparently as proud of his political leanings as Tim Leatherman is, is somebody that should expect to lose a few supporters and lose some business with them. He was willing to publicly air his views, so I will too.

Sorry Harry, nothing personal, but I'll be sitting this one out.

Ahh....has anybody ran this past Saeed? It is his site, therefore his logo.

Bakes,
I always run things by Saeed first. I would never take the liberty to use a man's site nor his logo without first getting his permission.
You could have asked him yourself in pvt. but you posted this instead.
To the rest of the forum members.
If this deal is going to get into some sort of pissing contest then I have no need to do it.
I was trying to offer a useful product with the AR logo to the membership. There are many other items I can do the same with.
I wonder what the political leanings of the car you are driving is / was. I would bet it would be safe to assume that many of the products you / we already own and use had both party bases covered with "a contribution" so as to not be left out in the cold after the votes were counted.
Consider the Leatherman offer withdrawn.
