Gents:
In reading Sutherland for the umpteenth time I noted his diet and exercise program to stay healthy on safari. Perhaps this is something you gents can benefit from for your next trip over.
Cal

AM
cocoa with boiled milk and vanilla
exercise with dumb bells
cold bath
rub down
tea and biscuits

Noon whilst hunging
sugar and cocoa mixture
water

PM
bathe--two per day, cold, to strengthen the heart
change clothes
eat
whiskey
tobacco--to steady the nerves

I don't like milk.
I hate exercising - I get enough of that hunting.
I hate cold baths
Depends who is giving me a rub down - certainly non of those I have seen being employed in a hunting camp!

Tea and biscuits are great.

I don't drink whiskey - Walter says I behave drunkenly enough without it!!

Eat - preferable a buffalo steak - extra well done, with lemon juice and Tabasco!

No whiskey
No tobacco.

Now, what about your diet Cal??

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Hahaha! Haha! My sides hurt from laughing.

You have to be healthy to begin with in order to stay healthy.

It was not too long ago that we read topics here discussing getting in shape before a safari. Most people now don't bother.

Saeed says he hates exercise but obviously he is doing something to stay fit. A few others here also. Most people who post pics of themselves here haven't seen a gym or a pair of running shoes since their school days ended.

When I hunt in Namibia I'm fortunate to have a gourmet cook in Mariesje du Plessis of Sebra Hunting Safaris. I'm typically up at 5;00AM, *throw rhe kids in ghe pool",shower and shave. Next is a delicious breakfast including lots of hot coffee. We're on the road by 6:00 and lunch is often taken out in the field or we return to the main lunch for a hot meal and a siesta. Dinner is a gourmet meal involving locally harvested game cooked over mopane coals and washed down with a couple of Tafel beers. If we've had success that day there will be a Jagermeister toast.A couple of Cuban cigars sitting around the fire pit will round out the day.I'm typically in bed by 9:00 PM ready to do it all over again. If we're hunting hyenas by moonlight ee extend the afternoon siesta and lay off the alcohol
