I still haven't gotten over this sable. If I ever kill one like this I'd have to be dipped and packed along with the sable, because I wouldn't let him out of my sight until we got home.

Adam, are there any roan on the Kosonso concession? What would be the best place to go for both sable and roan?

Thanks,
Forrest

Forrest, yes, there are roan in the Kosonso area, but not many. The best place that I have in Zambia for sable and roan would be in the Tondwa concession which is also excellent for sitatunga and puku as well.

The other suggestion I would have for excellent sable and roan would be in our Rungwa concession in Western Tanzania. We have not taken any sable under 40" in our Rungwa block for the last 4 years. You can expect sable in the 40"-45". Roan is also very good and you could expect 27"-29".

These are the two places where I know we have excellent sable and roan. If you want more details just e-mail me or call me.

Congratulations !!!!

Could this outstanding critter be linked to the waning Giant Sable from ANGOLA ?
Angola is next door from Zambia and Tanzania.
Is the differences between the both subspecies depending only on body size?
