I was checking into flights for July and the United reservations agent indicated that SAA was not in the Star Alliance. I recall last November or December seeing a press release announcing SAA joining the Star Alliance which was to be effective Jan 1, 2005. Anyone know if that got derailed?

Frowner Douglast,

I just checked the Lufthansa website under the Star Alliance members and South African Airways is NOT listed.

It was also my understanding that LH and SAA worked closely together.

Apparently not yet.

Cheers,

Gerry
