The same goes for the lion if both are of legal age, and it is not evident if either is a pride lion, I would take the best trophy!

I'm sure that is not the politically correct answer, but it is a true answer that would come from most who have traveled half way around the world, and spent many thousands of dollars on the hunt.

And this one that was well known by the PHs and outfitter as being an older solitary male that was past his pride holding years. His mane is greatly diminished compared to the other, but he showed up on the bait with with a solitary female, and no cubs. He had lost 1/2 of his tail previously and had a deformed foot, both likely the result of earlier fights in his prime. This same lion gave Jines and Buzz the slip for 19 days earlier in the season so he was smart to our ways of deception; that is until he made a mistake on day 15 of my hunt. Was I disappointed? Are you kidding me?
