And they STINK!!!!!
Civet is used as a perfume base ("fixer"?) from ancient times. Along with mongoose and genets, civet cats were always trying to get at the pigeons kept for a time by boys at our boarding school outside Addis Ababa. Mongooses also reek!

BTW the pix at top of this thread is of Mark Buchanan . His Big Bore Productions DVD of hunting Ethiopia (like a certain other high-watts Marc is working on -- hint, hint) is due out soon. "Death In The Rift Valley / Ethiopia". Christmas is very far away...

I shot a real big one in Zim with my 9,3x74R.

It is one of my favorite trophies.

I like hunting the little cats and other varmints.

Can you import a civet into the USA? I declined to shoot them b/c I was not sure if I could bring it back.

Mine didn't stink at all. And yes, they are importable into the United States. Life Form has mine(and 25 other trophies of mine) ready for shipment.

The man behind the civet is Mark Buchanan, a superb hunter.
