I have a European/skull mount of a springbok taken in Namibia in 2011. The mount was imported into the U.S. however I wish to bring the mount to give to my cousin who currently lives in the UK.

I would be carrying the mount in my checked in baggage from the US to the UK and then handing it over to my cousin.

I have read what I believe the appropriate UK rules are (link below) but just want to get some advice from someone who has done this before.
