Mast/Bell has thrown in the towel, at least as far as sporting ammunition cases. They are keeping the military stuff and moving (today) to be a part of the Lake City Ammunition Plant in Independence, MO.

Some other outfit from S. Dakota (?), maybe Black Hills but I don't know, has bought the sporting ammunition equipment but who knows when they will be up and running.

MAST is selling off their sporting ammunition cases but unfortunately I do not know what their new phone number will be in Missouri. At some point one ought to be able to get some cases relatively cheap, from what they have left over. Store away the possibility when their new address & phone number surface.

Bill - Thanks for the info. I have used a lot of MAST brass through the years. Great stuff for sure. Fortunately, I have a life time supply of MAST brass for most of my rifles, but I would sure hate to see there product disappear...

Will,
Between you and Rusty, confirmed.

The new owner of the MAST/BELL equipment is:

Jamison International V LLC
3551 Mayer Avenue
Sturgis, SD 57785

Phone: (605) 347-5090
FAX: (605) 347-4704
jamisonintl@rushmore.com

Marc Jamison is a nice fellow who handed out samples of his .408 Chey-Tac and .404 Dakota brass to me when I visited several months ago. He is located a stone's throw outside the front door of Dakota Arms.

He makes top quality stuff. Hopefully he will supply anything that BELL offered before, with no quality issues at all, no worries. Dakota may be switching over to him for all their brass. I think Norma has been making most of it up until now.

I think Dakota selected him starting with the .404 Dakota.

It may not be accurate to say that MAST threw in the towel. It appears that they have some much more lucrative opportunities than making mini runs of 500 nitro brass, etc. The market is still there, and Mr. Jamison felt it was worth investing in the equipment, so I am looking forward to purchasing brass from him in the future.

MAST is selling off all of their odd cases at quite a discount (.470 NE cases are $175/100) They will not be making them in the future.

I sure hope other arrangements are made that result in the continued availability of some of the less common caliber cases.

I recently bought 500/416, 375 Flanged, 404 Jeffery from the instock Mast had left over. The killer of all this is that they did not have any 450/400 3 inch.

When I talked to Jamison on the phone last month. He was polite. However I got the impression that he was not about to start rolling Nitro Express BELL/BeLL brass off the line any time soon, other than whatever he was making now.

I for one will be very happy to see him make BELL, BeLL, or whatever in Nitro Express. For those of us who like the BeLL quality, I hope he does continue to make brass that we can use. I think we are about to enter a period of deminishing supplies for our doubles once again!

I hope that is not the case. I will be glad to see jamison's product line for sale. If that does come to pass?

For the .470 NE cases, unless my math is off ($175/5=$35) that's $35.00 per 20. MidwayUSA has .470 Nitro Express Bell brass for $31.99 (box of 20). I think I'll order some just to have on hand.

Just got off the phone with Jay Bell out in Nevada. They are literally moving out the equipment today, but he was still able to take an order. The Nevada phone number on the website will still work for a while and the Missouri number will be posted there shortly.

I ordered some 375 Flanged Mag. He said they still have quite a bit of inventory in most calibers and are finding crates of brass all the time. He said they just ran across a whole stock of 470 brass. They have a flyer out and if I get one, I'll post what it says. Availability of most calibers should last for quite a while, but some will run out quickly if it's not already gone. If you want something, I suggest you call early next week to see if they still have it.

I understand that they will sell the in stock and that's it...They will only be producing commercial, military and doing contract work regardless of what one hears...I got that from a pretty reliable source.
