I just used some 210 gr 338 cal Scirocco II on plains game with mixed sucess. They produced perfect mushrooms, but lacked penetration. Remember, forgivness is easier to get than permission.

I loaded some for my 300 wby for a plains game hunt couple of yrs back, but didn't take them, havent used them yet. My guess for thin skinned game they should work fine. I don't think they would come close to pentrating like a barnes or aframe, but then again, they weren't designed to. Billy, High in the shoulder (we band of bubbas)

I've tried them in a couple of different calibers, but found wasn't able to find a load that gave acceptable accuracy; MOA rifles suddenly became 3 MOA rifles no matter what I tried. I was actually really surprised, as the A-Frame has always shot very well and been very easy to load. That was the first generation bullets though, I believe they made some changes to address this. I load the Scirocco 180gr .30 cal for my son's .300RUM and a cousin's .300WinMag. Mine are from an early batch, so don't know how the current ones do. Accuracy is so-so and takes effort to find a really good load. Both of the above use them for elk in Colorado. The Sciroccos do mushroom nicely, but A-Frames and Nosler Partitions out-penetrate as one would expect. .395 Family Member DRSS, po' boy member Political correctness is nothing but liberal enforced censorship
