What ambient temperatures would you expect hunting in Africa?

What would be the aveage temperature when hunting cape buffalo in Africa? I plan on using a .375 H&H Ackley Improved 40 (essentially a 375 Weatherby Magnum), and I don't want my load to be too hot for the expected or usual ambient temperature.

L. David KeithAs mentioned, it would be of great importance to know WHEN you were going (Month) and the immediate area. The African countries you listed are large, especially RSA (that's huge). Temp's can range from 30 degrees (F) with snow to 80F by midday during winter. I just left 100-110 degrees of broiling heat in Zim. Be specific and I try to get you close on norms.

ozhunterI have had it so hot in september, October and November that the barrels on my rifles were almost too hot to touch and the black eye cups on my Leica Bino's where uncomfortably hot against my face.
For this reason I would not over load my ammo!

DPhillipsWas over 100*F in Zim nearly everyday late September and early October when I was there in 2005, at least in the lowveld. Blasted hot to an Alaskan boy, I can tell you that.
I would not redline any pressures... No reason too.

akplsMid 90's, pushing 100 in Namibia late September. Dry as a bone too.
September and October heat in Zambezi Valley in '05 and '06, and south of the Valley along Lake Kariba, also the low Velt all upper 90's to low 100's, with several notable days in Oct '05 in the Zambezi Valley up around 110 and 115*.

TerryRIf you are hunting Buffalo in Botswana it likely will be in the 40's at night warming up to the mid 80's during the day. This is the winter, our summer, May, June, July, August. I've never been there in April or september, but it shouldn't be much different. In the Kalahari the nights will be colder, but the Buffalo hunting is north.
