Anticipation is high as I get close to leaving the Ozark hills of Southern Missouri for South Africa.

My very first big trip in 44 years of life

I have several great friends here on AR but two I want to take a moment to thank.

Graybird and Snellstrom

Both in their own way have changed my families life in a way I can't begin to describe and I will always be in debt to them.

Thank you two, from the bottom of my heart

Thanks for the kind words, Ted. But, it's just doing what my great grandpa always told me to do. Nothing more, nothing less!

We're down to counting days now!!!

Enjoy the journey! I am sure you will make many great memories with good friends. I am also pretty sure you will make some new friends with Andrew and his family as well.

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

First African Safari?
Nothing like it. Enjoy the ride and every minute of it. Keep every day journal, so much fun to read it in later years
