I would really appreciate it if anyone could supply me with a list of professional videographers that you have used, a mate has used, or you just know of.

You know, the guys that you hire to come along on safari to film it so you have a video record of the hunt.

Especially appreciate it if you have a web address for them.

Thanks in advance.

NE 450 No 2 used Ian Lewis of Safari Videos and has said he was very pleased. There was another company mentioned in this thread.

NitroX,
Charles is correct. Ian did a great job. He is also a fine person to have around the fire. He is videoing my 31 day safari in March 2006.
I would not even consider a Safari without him doing the video.

I've had the pleasure of watching the video of N E 450 No2's hunt. It's one of the best hunting video I've ever seen. Not to mention every animal was taken with a double rifle!

Quality is excellant and the editing and post production work are professionally done. This is a Broadcast Quality production!

The DRSS guys who saw the video encouraged Tony to market the video.

Ian Lewis filmed my, two week, 2002 buffalo hunt. A better safari companion, you'll not find.

We used Dark Continent Videos to film our first safari.

Dark Continent Videos is a sister company to Coenraad Vermaak Safaris, but they will video hunts with other PHs. They did a magnificent job of filming and editing, adding music, maps and appropriate graphics.

The end result was a 90 minute presentation on VHS and DVD. They are not cheap, but you will not be disappointed with the final product.

I saw NE450No2's video too. If it were for sale, it would be well worth the money. A total class act and very well done.

I used a fellow by the name of Garrick Cormack his operation is "Wildside Worldwide Hunting Productions". Being born and raised in Zim , it was like having a walking/talking, naturalist/botonist along on the hunt!
Garrick did a TOP NOTCH job!
Very reasonably priced at around $250.00 per day . The price included the entire hunt being filmed. All the video was then edited and transformed into a 75 plus minute DVD documentary of my hunt accompanied by some great African music and appropriate comentary.
During the hunt we became fast friends and he is booked to film my next hunt this July.

Tell him Tim sent you!

NitroX,

When contacting various cameramen, I would request a showreel/demo dvd from them of their past work. This will at least give you an indication of how good/bad they are.

I just returned from Zimbabwe and had Osprey film my Safari. They are based out of Bulawayo. Their website is www.ospreyfilming.com I was very satisfied with all aspects of that company and simply cannot say enough for them! The cameraman Mark McAdam was a true asset in all aspects of the hunt and he was always pitching in to help in all situations. He was extremely Knowledgeable in everything as well as an excellent tracker and game spotter.
