Check with someone as I think the owners of that concession are on the US Gov't banned list. They have my appologies if I am wrong about that. 465H&H

Who currently operates the area (HHK, I believe?), who holds the concession and the story behind it has been discussed in here. ...Former General Ben Matiwaza has the Sengwa concession area. He operates "Tent Peg Safaris" It is possible the General has decided to negotiate with an outside source (HHK) and sell his entire quota of game to one safari operator for the year 2008. One thing for certain...to have exclusive hunting on Sengwa, an exorbitant amount of US dollars would change hands!

Spoke to Ben's brother at SCI. With the uncertainty over the elections etc, they figured the "safe" bet was to let a known and reputable operator to market and manage the hunting. HHK have the resources (their own aircraft) to get clients out in the unlikely event of real trouble and also, being a multinational company, the ways and means to re-emburse clients deposits if they cancel - something that is not always easy for an "indigenous" purely local company with no offshore bank accounts. The matiwaza brothers are taking a bit of a financial knock by going this route, but they figure that it is not worth the risk of having their names dragged through the mud if there are problems and they cannot cope! Ben is not on the US Banned list. He basically was given the oncession for his outstanding achievement in Rwanda- read - "Shake Hands with the Devil" by Romeo Delare. The only troops who performed creditably in that whole debical were the Zimbabwean troops Under Ben's command. The trashing of Africa's biggest and logest running wild life research centre to form another hunting concession was the miniters doing
