Here are the photos of these two splendid trophies, mildly speaking!!!
Some last minute clients came looking for hunts and Aaron Neilson and I teamed up to put these hunts together with SSG. Congratulations and thank you Nixon.
50.5" Buffalo
The buffalo is quite a story and he is one lucky hunter! The buffalo was wounded in the evening (angling frontal shot) and took off leaving a spotty blood trail. That night it rained!! The following morning the tracks were taken up and after some great tracking it was discovered that the buff had joined a herd. The hunters managed to locate him again and finish the job. Supposedly he was not too worse off for his earlier wound and they reckon he would have recovered! I told the hunter to stop hunting buffalo for good.
The following week, beautifully matched 81/80lbs elephant shot at around 6pm
My own very old 65" dugga boy shot at SSG earlier this year, where was that small 50" hiding, he had no guts to face me

What a buffalo. What a lucky hunter to have recovered him after those conditions! Still makes me sick that my wife's buffalo eluded use across the park boundary.

50" buff taken with a $500 Ruger....I LOVE IT! Funny how it's always the kid with the $10 Wal-mart purchased Snoopy rod and reel combo who ends up catching the biggest fish.
A buffalo of two lifetimes and a superb elephant. Kudos to the hunters and Nixon.
On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Two exceptional trophies for sure. Sort of tough to decide, if you could only get one, which one of the two would you take. I would probably take the elephant but it feels like six of one, half dozen of the other at some level. Congrats!
Wow! Very impressive! I'd have to quit hunting after those. How woud you top that?
