Good, i have used it personally and by choice would only avoid frontal chest shots/going away shots on buffalo and obviously Elephant and Rhino.Otherwise there is no other (realistic)shot on any other African Game that i would not use this for. I believe that it has been discontinued, which if true in my opinion is a pity and i will be sparing with the 60 odd rounds i have left

I've used that very load and its 300gr big brother. I love them both and am hoarding them as Winchester has discontinued their manufacture.

Like scott450, going away shots may be iffy with the 270gr.

I agree with Scott450 except that I would add Eland to that. A frontal shot on Eland is never a good choice with any bullet. Big animals can go a long way with one lung.

I used the 270 grain Failsafe factory loads on a trip to Namibia and while they were very accurate, the bullets either failed to expand or came apart.
I'd use them for practice only.

Since you live in Sweeden, wouldn't the Woodleighs be easier to obtain..The 350 gr. Woodleigh is hard to beat int he .375...Failsafes have had a lot of smoke blown, and where there is that much smoke there is usually fire...The Barnes X 270 gr. has a good rep on big tough stuff..and I would bet the GS Cusoms HP out of RSA is the better of the two.

FWIW - used them on 2 impala and one wildebeest at ranges up to 230yds and they behaved impeccably, accurate too out of my Mod 70 stainless. Charlie.
