Six more days and a wakeup and we are headed out via Delta to Bulawayo.

Twelve days of chasing elephant, buffalo, and maybe a good kudu, sable, or waterbuck with Martin Pieters Safaris and Lindon Stanton as my PH on Omay North.

Then some time in Bulawayo then off to Nehimba for some R&R and then Vic Falls and home. Twenty-eight days total.

It will be a little warm and damp just like home. Chilly Pads, a fan, and a good attitude will take care of the heat. The swimming pool in camp will help also.

Lindon? You are hunting with Lindon? That guy couldn't find a buffalo if he hit it with his Toyota! (of course, we shot 2 very nice ones when I was there in August- poacher stole the bait the day before our night in the blind or I would likely have had a nice leopard, too).

You will have a great time! Good luck!

Mike, I hope you have a great hunt. 28 days in country is certainly enough to relax and get the flavor of the place.

Mike,

Way to go. I hope you have the trip of your dreams.

Mike,

Best of luck and sweat a bucket me. Take Martin up on the lion. Those kind of opportunities don't come along often.

Have a great hunt, Mike, and say hello to Lindon for me. Hunted Omay north w/Lindon in 2010, took a great buff, kudu & impala. I was lucky enough to take a 7ft. 10in. ranch leopard with him in May. BTW, be sure to pack your running shoes so you can keep up with him!

Thanks for all the replies and well wishes.

This will be my third trip to the Omay with Martin.

It will be nice not to be rushed and enjoy some time in the country.

Martin,

You are a cruel man for tempting me with the lion. And thanks for the invite to the ball.

Cannot wait. 4 1/2 days and a wakeup.

Dang Mike. I just realized what a sacrifice you are making. Missing a big part of duck season.

I'll whack a pile of ducks for you.
That hunter's ball sounds like fun. You and Katherine enjoy.
Be safe in your travels.
