I find myself like Tim Herald. I am unable to find a Hotel for the convention that has shuttle service. Anyone who has to cancel the convention and would not need a room for two people or have a line on something close?

Thanks Hoot

Springhill Suites is within walking distance if the weather isn't bad, plus it is close to some great restaurants.
Unfortunately there is no shuttle.
Check to see if they have hotel pick up & drop off available.
There's always cab service.

At the risk of ruining it, my favorite hotel in Dallas is the Adolphus. It's within walking distance of the convention and a very nice hotel. It's where I usually stay in Dallas.

No cheerleader convention. A bar; no lines. Two restaurants, one really fancy and expensive and one barbeque/hamburger joint. Good room service.

Well, the Adolphus is also booked up. I was wondering if anyone is staying at the Comfort Inn where we had a lot of AR members staying and a Friday get together. Is anything going on like past years with AR?

I booked a room in the Homewood suites last evening. Not sure if they have shuttle, but its a reasonable walk I think.

I understand the hotel will provide shuttle service. That's where I'm staying anyway.

I hope you're right.
We stayed there in 2010 & really liked it.
But on Friday night the bus that was marked for Springhill Suites would not take anybody there from the show, it was very cold & windy standing outside after the show thinking about 12 or so of us were going to have to walk when a limo pulled up & ask if anybody needed a ride.
I tipped him well.
The next day several of us reported this to DSC & apparently things did not get settled to their liking & Springhill got taken of the list of hotel providers for the show.
If memory serves me correctly, we had to catch cabs Sat. both ways.
But I really liked staying there.

df06,

I just tried to check the availability at Homewood Suites and their online booking is down. While on their site I checked on their map and it shows that they are way up on Stemmons Freway. It would be one helleva walk if I am correct in looking at their map. You might better check and see.

Well, I finally was able to book a room at the Crown Plaza, but I had to drop a day so I will only be at the convention for two days. I have stayed there before and they do have a shuttle. I am an old country boy and driving in city traffic during rush hours causes me a lot of stress. Thanks to retreever for the map which also showed some hotels that I was able to book from. Thanks to all who provided help.

Muchas gracias,
Hoot
