I once talked to the old man about a grand business plan I had. The fish were not biting and I hammered away with my grand idea.......

After a while he looked at me and said something really simple " Success comes with hard work, harder prayers and tons of grey hair, but most of all, with the help of a few good men"

I though he was chewing on the bait we trying to entice the fish to bite with, but all these years later I realise that he could not have been more right.

So Ladies and Gentleman, without further ado, I am excited and pleased to introduce to you our new Hunting Manager - Mr. Neil Lindsay. Neil starts with us from 5 January 2015, and Louise, his lovely wife, will join us on 1 April!

NEIL R LINDSAY
PROFESSIONAL HUNTER

Neil is a 5th generation African, born in the old Northern Rhodesia, now known as Zambia, but moved to Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) as a young boy.
Growing up in the Matabeleland province, Neil was educated at Plumtree High School, a remote boarding school situated on the border with Botswana, where emphasis on the outdoors is an integral way of life for the young scholars. It is here where Neil derived a passion for all that is outdoors, culminating in a career as a Professional Hunter, starting in the mid 1980’s.

Neil’s adventures have taken him through the length and breadth of Zimbabwe, from the majestic Zambezi Valley to the rolling granite kopjes of the Matopos, from the famous Matetsi Safari area to the beauty that is the lowveld. Here Neil honed his hunting skills over the years before embarking on further adventures into the dark continent, searching for the areas which had only been part of another adventures’ life, and foretold through books.

Neil has had the privilege of hunting alongside some of the elder members of the Professional Hunting fraternity, those who have plied their ways in the East Africa of old, gaining vast experience himself in Tanzania of today. Neil has experienced the harsh beauty of central and northern Masailand, along the banks of Lake Natron and in the shadows of Ol donyo Langai. The swamps of Moyowosi and the breathtaking Lake Burigi in the far north western corner, down to the central plateaus of Ruaha and Kizigo, and further to the southern and eastern borders of Selous, Neil has been there. Tanzania is a vast and complex network of differing hunting blocks, and to have had the fortune of working as many as he has is something he certainly holds dear.

Neil has been married to Louise for 22 years now, and have two children, who in their own way are continuing this tradition of adventure. Travis is plying his trade in Uganda whilst their daughter Jordyn travel to USA for a year as an au pair.

Neil will be managing and also guide, all our East African Safaris we will be offering from 2015 onwards. He will be doing his own advertising here on AR - where he have been posting as Neil PH for many many years!

Neil Lindsay, are you kidding me - that guy???? I've personally hunted with Neil (my very first African safari) and it was awful! I was booked on a 10-Day safari in which he forced me to shoot a 40" buff, a leopard, and a dirty ole lion. Cool Oh ya, an impala too. Thanks to that sorry SOB I have returned to Africa 32 more times!!!!

Congrats to you boys, and lots of luck with the new venture!!!!

Sounds like he owes you some $$$$$$$$.
I know the man that gave me the nudge to book my 1st safari owes me some.
But then he might charge me for the memories, best leave that one alone.

Thank you everyone, I am sure Neil will chip in here himself sometime, but he is a quite and humble person, so expect a one liner.... Big Grin

Buzz, in his book, "Into the Thorns" Wayne Grant makes mention of Neil hunting a particular difficult Leopard in their area and speaks very highly of him.

If I remember correctly Neil's License number in Zim is nr. 207. As I like to remind him, he is an old fart, but man, he still walks all of us into the ground let me tell you that!

We look forward to a great working relationship!

Well, Aaron, I too have never quite been the same; cant quite put my finger on which incident has left me so scarred, nor have the psychiatrists, but it keeps them all interested !!!

Sorry Buzz, the secret is out, I cherished all these "incognito" years.......may have to re-register and take on another pseudonym !!

I believe it was the buffalo that I shot square up the rear-end (first shot) with a soft! For some reason you were not too impressed with that little move. But never fear, it worked out perfectly in the end - you smashed him at 15 feet with your .460 Weatherby as he was coming for YOU!!! Man, that was great!!!! wave

In all seriousness, the man can shoot! He likes that 460 calibre....I just do not know about push feed or controlled feed..... Wink So I think we should get him a 470 Sabati......?
