A bunch of years ago I killed this elephant with Brent Hein on a non-trophy hunt at Omay South. I've always wanted something (more than a picture) to remember the bull and the butt-kicking that the hills of Omay gave me.

I contacted the engraver mentioned here, commissioned a money clip and sent him pictures, explaining what I wanted... not huge tusks, with more "curl" one the right tusk (and a bit shorter) than the left, both slightly upward, etc.

Having never seen the elephant in the flesh, I think the artist did it pretty darn well and at the cost of a couple of bait impala!

One more polishing and I get it this week in the mail! Now, everyday, I'll get to re-live the thrill of being 15 yards from six tons of my target, then, as he turned away, my .470 N.E. thumping a right and a left and 20 elephants (minus one) breaking all of hell loose.

Can't wait until May 31st when I'll be in Flight 200 again.

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

I like it Ernest! A unique bit of usable art that will always remind you of that particular bull!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

Life grows grim without senseless indulgence.
