Silver Bear2008 Plains Game Hunt in RSA
Has anyone had any experience hunting with Uhuru Safaris, Numzaan Safaris, Ingogo Safaris, or with Jim Hackiewicz? I am thinking of a ten day plains game hunt in 2008. I talked with the fist three Thursday at Erie County Sportsmen's Show and was impressed with all three. Also when is the best time to go for Kudu, Gemsbuck and Waterbuck?
Thanks,
Silver Bear

L. David KeithFor Kudu I'd go in May. They're usually in the rut, so your chances of finding a larger bull are best. Consult your PH as to rut timing. Some areas may differ. As for Gemsbok and Waterbuck, anytime between May-August: it's cooler. Good hunting, LDK

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

LabmanI've hunted with Jim twice in RSA and so has Mr. Mike who also posts here once in awhile. For a plains game hunt you can't go wrong booking with Jim. He'll be there with you when you're hunting. How many other booking agents can make that promise? I recently posted a response to another hunter asking about Jim and Landelani Lodge and gave a similar positive recommendation. Jim will pull out all the stops to get you your animals. You can't go wrong with him. I certainly wouldn't have booked a second trip with him if I didn't have a great time on the first trip. Both Jim and MW (the owner of Landelani Lodge) are stand up guys.
