I don't know the whole story but they should know how to behave around animals.

Apparently their "extensive post PHD work in animal related fields" or whatever did not prepare them for "real life". Not surprised but too bad I'm sure they meant well and the kid was just along for the ride

Sad situation for the family but a good example of how little actual knowledge many folks have concerning wild animals.

Proof that all giraffs should be killed off before they eliminate the human race!

I just watched the story on one of the major morning shows.

The parents are both wildlife scientists (both have PHDs) living on the wildlife reserve where the attack took place. Their three year old son is coming out of a medical induced coma and will need extensive reconstructive plastic surgery to make him right. The mother has woken up and is communicating by sign language. It sounds very serious.

They are absolutely adamant that the attacking giraffe not be harmed.

I think giraffe rugs are quite attractive.

The fact people with people and things bigger than they are is both disturbing and hilarious.

A lot of over educated people just bought books and apparently just ate the covers off them..The bear expert that voiced his opinnions on Alaskan Brown bears and was heralded by Hollywood and most liberal antis..got ate, and maybe along with his wife, but not sure of that. The left was agast..Watching his show I could have predicted that, he was too chummy with the big bears..

Good movie right here and my Alaska buddies knew he was going to get eaten sooner or later suprised it took so long. The outfitters hated him because he disrupted hunts. Most think the bears were so confused by the crazy idiot they steered well clear....As for giraffe rugs when I was in SA in May I was informed that a giraffe rug was the bomb...And you know what I agree. OK one more plainsgame then.....

PHD does not mean that much as far as i'm concerned just that you spend too much time in a classroom....Although I respect some wildlife biologists I know
