Did anyone have any issues with the bow hunting episode last week? What stuck out to me was the shooting of an Impala at a watering hole with quite a few other Impala within a foot or two behind it. I wonder after the pass through how many Impala the arrow hit?

I saw that show, and I too thought that there was at least one ewe that was also hit.

Yep, funny, they talk about how well that "Steel Force" broadhead penetrates and then shoot when there is a very good chance of killing/wounding other animals with a pass through.........but I'm not a TV star, what do I know? [Big Grin]

Fellas,

I also saw that episode and thought the exact same thing. If you watch closely when the ram is hit, a ewe behind jumps straight in the air smiliar to what some of the whitetail I have heart shot do. I noticed right away.

I have to be careful about being too critical as I'm in the same industry, but I wasn't really concerned as much with the shot selection since video compresses an image and is very decpetive about angle/distance, etc. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they were taking good shots, although I did cringe! I was however disappointed that they got the names of some the animals wrong.

That's got to be a serious drawback for the novice when the professionals can't tell the difference between a secretarybird and a kori bustard or between a steenbok and a duiker.

I think it's just a quality control issue where the writer makes an error and Steve records the voice over and never gets to view the edited episode before it goes to air.

It's an expensive business and these poor guys really have to cater to the sponsors to keep the ball rolling, I just feel bad for these guys 'cause I know they want to produce the best show possible and it's hard to make it all come together given the time and money involved.

My hat goes off to these guys and I admit I watch Safari Hunter's Journal every week.

Don,

I saw that too where he got the names wrong all on the same show. I thought maybe I heard him wrong but now that someone else noticed....YIKES!

Natilee Caprone is very georgous, I love her! Her talent for art is top notch, it seems. I'm quite interested, so can anyone reveal whether she has a web site of her work?
