Leopard Ridge Safaris were due in court in Zambia at the end of October to challenge the loss of their concession. Anyone heard any news of the outcome?

I received an email from Ross last week and he was very optimistic and hopeful of a decision very soon. Other blogs have indicated that the hunting community and investors in Zambia are watching the outcome of this case with great interest. Based on the lack of due process to date and that none of the charges has been proven in a court to date anything can and will happen. It's Zambia!

There is a reasonable/good legal system in Zambia (by African Standards) and it does work independant of the governement. We personally have taken a (specific private land issue) case through the Zambian courts and had the ruling in our favour. So we feel that justice can bee served Like most places in the world the FIRST thing you need is a TOP NOTCH lawyer whom is well versed in the issues which are being contested, and also one needs to be certain all the correct paper work/documents are available that clearly cover your grievance and/or issue being contested, and finally you must be 100% truthful in all deliberations. I dont know Ross specific issues BUT when it gets into the GMA licence allocations theatre this is a difficult area particularily as there are powerful forces working within Good luck Peter

It could be a non starter as the local wildlife authority has already advertised his concession in the press and are taking bids for it.

What action(s) or violation(s) are the government's claim to justify Leopard Ridge Safari to forfeit their contractual rights of the hunting concession? Is it common practice of the government of Zambia to randomly confiscate a hunting concession from an outfitter without a valid reason?
