Only black giraffe experience I have is several years old when the concession owner asked me to shoot a “stink bull”, which was an old, black giraffe. Might be another kind, but that is my experience…and they are stinky! Karl Evans

Saw a really dark bull on the Bubiana Conservancy, which borders Bubye Valley Conservancy, while I was after a leopard there. PH really wanted me to go for that bull... but the floor in my great room has all the rugs it can handle & I just wasn't interested that day.

Dangerous Dave, A old black giraffe hunt is something I tried a few times, however, with the time frame for having the giraffe down almost made it impossible. Depending on the weather temps, I needed to have my giraffe down by 8 AM no later than 9 AM. it takes a crew about 6 to 7 hours to skin the giraffe out in the field. if you are looking at saving the hide and to avoid hair slippage the time slot made it difficult. finding a stink bull late in the evening, to try and find it in the morning was difficult (they move around a lot). they are tall and busted our approach before a shot was available. I did take a couple of giraffe bulls later in the hunt, one for cull that had a snare on its leg and another one that made it self available while looking for warthogs. it wondered out about 100 years away and stopped to look at us, big mistake. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> "You've got the strongest hand in the world. I've hunted mostly in Tanzania where giraffe are totally off ticket, but hunted a couple of times in Namibia. Never wanted to shoot one, but they make great "chili bits". (diced giraffe biltong soaked in piri prir sauce). African equivalent of bar nuts.
