Thanks George, Just looked at there website. Not sure if they would do a gunslip or sling. I'll call and post the answer here. They will do gun cases, no idea of prices yet. Thanks again George. Brett

My pleasure. Another option is to inquire at a tack & saddle shop. A gun slip has relatively simple construction, so it shouldn't be that expensive. George

There is a company here named Bandera that makes slings, cases, any number of items and what I have purchased has been first class. They were/are (I don't really know) a jobber for several holster companies over the years. If you would like I can call them and get an idea of what they charge. Frank

Guess I have to chime in with another vote for Murray. About 5 years ago they made some stuff for me; (sling and ammo belt pouches) with the modifications I requested. They do first-rate work in every respect. I don't mind paying as long as I get my money's worth.

I have got a splendid gun slip made in Spain, I'll look for the (cheap) maker In France alexandre Mareuil J B de Runz Be careful when blindly following the masses ... generally the "m" is silent

Thanks for the responses. Frank, please do and let me know. Murry is good but $500 for a gun slip seems excessive, particurlarly as I want to have several of them done for family and friends. Brett

Hi Brett. I finally had a chance to talk with the owner at Bandera. He has not worked with Elephant but was very articulate in what was needed to give you quality work. He charges $30 to $50/hour shop time and said a leather scabbard style using 9oz would run around $150. He has a catalog showing the designs he makes and is willing to talk with you about what you want. He also makes any number of other items including belts, slings, cases, trap/skeet items and so 0n. Give him a call @ 707 725 0228 mornings are best, he is there now and I forgot to ask if he is there weekends. Good luck Frank

Call Ashley Schildknecht at Snake Horse Saddle Shop. He does excellent work at decent prices. By the way that's my saddle on his front page!

Brett, Tom Hardesty of Atcheson's Taxidermy is having a guy in Butte make two simple elephant hide sleeves for me. You can reach Tom at 1-406-782-0569. I think you'll find the price much cheaper than what you have been quoted. Mark MARK H.
